YA2: I would like to thank you, uncle, in England because this
opportunity is good for grandpa to bring this tape recorder so that we
could speak through it and that you could hear us or hear our dialect
(the Indonesians call it 'ragam') which is called Warbyak So I (will)
tell you my name, my Christian name is Yusak Isak Aprombis. My
customary name is Sanadi Aprombis. My mother had me in Napdori on May
16th, 1965. So now I am forty four years old. If we count on, I will
be 45 years old in May. So that's what (the first thing) I would like
to tell you, uncle. I would like to talk about our village in the past
when I was still a kid and was playing around the beach. So, when I
was small my mother and my father took me and we went to live in
Yenbepyoper, Aidwar and then we returned to Napdori and continued to
live in this village, I was still small and was playing around at the
Ramdori beach.  So the real name of this village is Ramdori. Ramn
means blue. Do means deep. So it is called Ramdo. I would like to tell
uncle that our village is full of thorns sea, seaweed and moss The
coral reefs are like graters, which we usually use to grate
cassava. So when we have them we usually play with them. We took it
from the sea and dried them until they dried, then, the parents used
them to smoke their cigarettes. 
HM: They used them as an ashtray 
YA2: They used them as an ashtray to put their tobacco ash, We peeled
the seaweed and then grated them on the rocks that I just talked
about, and yes, the rocks were sharp just like graters. We grated them
until they were white and then we ate them. 
HM: What your son called 'andoi' is the seaweed. 
YA2: Yes 
HM: Those are what he called 'andoi'. 
YA2: People eat seaweed and that's the way we live. So my father got
his knowledge from our grand father, Stefen Mofu. My father remembered
them and he taught himself then when he had us and raised us, he
taught the knowledge to us and we still have it. We also have the
knowledge or... Or we remember the knowledge so that we could teach it
to our families and our relatives in the village and in the
church. Now I have a position as a deacon in the church, I am the
deputy secretary of the church. That's the position in the church. In
the government, I am the village secretary.
